A good start

The Rangers dropped the first two out of the all star break, but recovered nicely to win 4 of 6 including a sweep of the Red Sox. Pitching was the key to the homestand, but it still worries me how much this team needs the long ball. The Angels aren't giving the boys any chance to make up room at the moment, KC seemed to just keep giving games away. Rangers head to KC tomorrow and try to keep the mojo going, as they are 3 back from the Angels and 2.5 back of the Red Sox in the wild card race. The pitching continues to be the bright spot on this team, and well honestly that's just never been the case and i'm still not sure i trust this staff. David Murphy continues to swing the hottest bat in the line-up and should remain in the everyday rotation. Red Sox nation is reeling a bit as they have dropped 5 in a row and fallen 2 games back of the evil empire.

  1. Well I will give it to the Rangers in the sweep of the BoSox. They did prove that they could hang with the big boys. I just don't think the pitching staff will be able to substain it throughout the season. It won't surprise me if the Rangers go to KC and lose 2 out of 3 in the series. Rangers seem to faulter against the weaker teams and get up for the stronger teams. As for the wild card, that team will come out of the AL East. It has been that way for years and will stay that way. The Rangers will need to win the division to get into the post season ball.
The Nation will be back, just on a little slide right now This team is too taleneted not win the AL East.

  2. they may be " too talented", BUT they're not hitting the ball and the pitching staff is not that great. Wakefield will be lucky to win 3 games in the second half, and Beckett can't pitch every night.

  3. Every team has a slump during the season, better now than a late season meltdown. And I will be counting how many wins Wakefield has after he comes off the DL!! Just watch the Strangers, opps Rangers, faulter in the end.
